Recovering from C-Sections
Recovering from C-Sections is no easy thing – but there are things you can do to ease the process:
- Take it easy! Your most important considerations are your health and your baby’s health. Don’t worry about anything beyond that for a few weeks. Get plenty of rest when you can.
- Walk around enough to keep your blood flowing. I know, it sounds like a contradiction to my first point! You need to get plenty of rest, but if you do nothing but sit, it will slow your recovery. Gentle walking will aid your healing process.
- Keep a close eye on your incision. Infected incisions are going to get in the way of healing. Watch out for redness, discharge that is not clear, and fever. Call your care provider if you are at all concerned about how your incision looks.
- Ask for help! Get help with anything you can – help preparing meals, help tidying your home, help emotionally if you are struggling after your baby’s birth.
